Here We Stand

Scarborough, Tobago - The 2012 Ms Heritage Personality pageant promises to be of a universal caliber as The Tobago House of Assembly and title sponsor First Citizens are pulling out all the stops in honour of the Silver Jubilee anniversary of the Tobago Heritage Festival.

Rigorous screening sessions at the Fairfield Complex on Saturday 16th and Sunday 17th June saw twenty five (25) young ladies from throughout Tobago audition for a chance to represent their respective communities or clubs at the highly anticipated event carded for Friday July 20, 2012 at the Cyd Gray Stadium in Roxborough.

The queen hopefuls showcased their talent and general knowledge to an expert panel and from their impressive presentations it is evident that Tobago is blessed with an endless pool of beauty and talent. In the end, however, ten beauties were selected by the panel that included Mr. Dale Mohammed, of First Citizens and Mr. Ian Lee.

The contestants chosen to vie for the coveted crown and title at the regal event include: Shenell Felix - Les Coteaux Close Connection Cultural Club, Keifa Des Vignes - Moriah Village, Tekeisha Charles -Charlotteville Folk Performers, Mandisa Jack - Mason Hall Village Council Folk Performers, Christelle London - Heartbeat Folk Performing Company, Kemba Winchester - Bago House of Kulture Stars, Cavel Gordon - De Kulture Klub Ensemble, Shenise Jack - L’Anse Fourmi, Kalifa Hislop – Carnbee/Mt. Pleasant and Trudi Ann Baptiste – Speyside.

Prior to the grand finale, the contestants will make appearances at several major events including the annual Charlotteville Fisherman and Speyside Fisherman fetes and participate in pre-show activities such as Etiquette Training, Wardrobing, Dining Etiquette, Financial Seminar and Interview Workshops. The ladies will also be privy to interact with a few of Tobago’s cultural icons. The theme of this gala event ‘Here We Stand’ signifies the accomplishment of the Festival and the celebration of the journey having arrived at this juncture.
