Tracing Footprints Breathes Life Into Legends...

Indelible footprints have been left in the sands of Paradise Tobago by those who arrived on our shores and provided the substance of our rich history.

These footprints have also been embedded on/in the hearts and imaginations of generations of Tobagonians and this year's Festival theme "Tracing Footprints"- will chronicle the adventures, achievements and memories of the numerous contributors to Tobago's cultural development during the Pre and Post Emancipation Period.

One of the basic pillars of the Tobago Heritage Festival is that villages in Tobago empower themselves and depict an aspect of our cultural heritage left as footprints by our ancestors, thus ensuring continuity and preservation. Through the documentation of the cultural practice, these footprints are created. In 2010 the villages in Tobago will continue this journey of documentation as they demonstrate their history in food, dance, drama, song, or a combination of all.
