Continuing the trend from last year, the Steel Pan will once again feature on the 2008 Heritage Calendar of Events in the form of Pan Folkorama.

It is a Heritage product which features the Steelpan rendering different genres of authentic Tobago Folk Song. Each band is required to develop a ten-minute production that may or may not be accompanied by dance and or drama in a non-competitive environment. The Pan Folkorama will serve as a medium through which the national instrument can have a more meaningful involvement in the Tobago Heritage Festival. This year 2008 Pan Folkorama is in honour of the KatzenJammers Steel Orchestra. This band won Pan in The 21st Century in the years 2004 and 2008.

Each steel band will develop a ten (10) minutes production including:

• Folk Dance and Pan
• Folk Singing and Pan
• And where necessary a Skit/Play
• A costumed performing cast

All are invited to listen to the sweet sounds of the national instrument at the Pan Folkorama.
