Mason Hall - Games We Used to Play

Have you ever seen a coconut –head bat, ah yaller rope? When Last have you heard “back the stand”, “who cyar run doh come in”?

Can you remember what used to happen every Good Friday under Miss Genna and Miss Rosie House? What about dos, tip and run out? Where have all the old bicycle wheels, the box carts, the cotton reel rollers gone? Get on board everyone. Let’s excite the children. Let’s pass on the tradition of playing games to them.

This year’s production is based on the daily activities, which occur by the river. The washerwomen, longtime saga boys who come to the river courting these ladies, the Village Macco, the Village Ram and the mythical folk lore character the “Fairy Maid”
